Recently we have been receiving complaints from members about spam e-mail messages. All similar, the complaints have stated that the member used a unique e-mail address when they signed up to one of our websites, and that e-mail account is now receiving massive amounts of spam messages.
We would like to clear up any misconceptions and formally state our position on this issue, and what we are doing to rectify it.
First off, the spam is NOT coming from us, or anyone we know. We do not spam our own email database, nor do we share the database with any other companies or programs. Third Pentacle, LLC strongly denounces the use of spam as a marketing, advertising, or sales practice. That being said, let’s move on to what we have learned so far about the “spammer”.
After looking at the messages, we have developed a pattern and successfully identified the sender. We have notified the companies he is representing of his tactics. Along with the pattern information we have as well as the other companies involved, we are doing as much as we can to shut him down.
The second point we’d like to address is how the e-mail addresses were obtained. Although we cannot get confirmation from the billing company, it looks like there system was compromised a few weeks ago. In talking to other adult companies, who have seen similar e-mail abuse complaints, this possibility is the most likely.
If you have received any spam, or unwanted e-mail, and you used a unique e-mail address to sign up to one of our websites, we would like you to help us further prove the theory above. If we can put together enough messages and take those e-mail addresses being abused to the biller, we can show them that the commonality is there.
